The Beautiful Losers
The Beautiful losers are a collection of  Wigan musicians from former Northwest bands and various genres who have
come together solely to create and compose the sound track to STAN’S CHILDHOOD, The name Beautiful losers is
taken from an Ocean colour  scene B-side. Made up of singer songwriters an musicians Paul Southward, Gary Fishburn
and John Roberts who have been busy in the studio working on a handful of tracks and instrumentals for the editing in
December, the boys have enjoyed writing and working together so much they have decided to take it further and
complete an album........... expected Jan 2012.

Id say I started of really writing poems as a teenager in my room which led to wanting to express them into songs so
Obviously meant picking up a guitar. insperations for me have always been Lennon/ Johnny cash/ the Verve/ ocean
colour scene (hence the name "THE BUEATIFUL LOSERS")
and many more really. I’ve known John and Gaz probably almost 15 years and after Brian told me about his plans to
make this film and I was fortunate for him to ask me to do the music I knew I was going to need some help on a
project of this scale, so hoping they wasn’t busy at the time I got in contact with them...and they are just as exited
about film as me"

Started to play the guitar at 13 years old, playing in numerous bands/jamming with other musicians for the next 4
years, picking up other instruments as the years went by, bass drums & keys. Bands include Audiorush, Prose &
most current The Beautiful Losers. Audiorush gigged up & down the country playing festivals in & out of town before
leaving to form Prose doing similar gigs with the members I had met over the years out & about in the Indie clubs &
pubs around town. The Beautiful Losers formed with former members John Roberts myself & Paul Southward who
we had known for years. The current project is new, writing & recording our own material in the 'Cellar Studios' at my
home. This is the first time we have taken on a project of its kind but aim to delivery the songs for Stan’s Childhood.

My first love of music really was DJ'ing, I got my first set of decks when I was 14 and by the age of 16
was DJ'ing in clubs around Wigan, I wasn’t even old enough to be in the clubs, I did ok, I won battle of
the DJs twice. After a while though I thought to myself I really want to make music of my own rather
than just play other peoples, I’ve known Paul all through school and he’d got himself an old guitar an kept
writing songs an poems..and I thought I want to do that.to be honest it didn’t take that long before we
recorded our first cd together(presidents residents an elephants) an even when i listen it today i think
we did a good record for 2 inexperienced kids. Over the last few years I travelled about gigging an
recording in the studio with our former band PROSE playing many great venues loved it but decided to
bring that to an end mainly because having my first child in 2009 but always been itching to get back
playing an recording so when Paul asked me to work on the soundtrack to Stan’s Childhood I just
couldn’t wait.
